In the academic year 2002, the Department of German Language and Literature was established and the first generation of students was enrolled. The study of German language and literature lasted 4 years, and after completion, the title of Professor of German language and literature was obtained.
In the academic year 2008, the Teaching and Research Council of the Faculty adopted a new Curriculum and Program according to the Bologna principles and standards, according to which the 4 + 1 + 3 study concept was introduced. The basic academic studies of the Department of German Language and Literature last four academic years or eight semesters and have a total scope of 240 ECTS points . Upon completion of the 1st cycle of studies at the Department of German Language and Literature, students acquire the title of Professor of German Language and Literature , and upon completion of the 2nd cycle of a master's degree, i.e. Master of German Language and Literature .
The master's study according to the Bologna principles began in the academic year 2012/13. year.
The study program primarily educates teachers in primary and secondary schools, as well as other educational institutions, public (state) and private institutions. It also educates employees who can perform jobs in publishing, cultural editorial offices and diplomatic missions, radio and television editorial offices, libraries and museums, in the tourism industry, in translation work, as well as in positions that require high communicative competence in the German language.
