The History study program at the Faculty of Humanities of the "Džemal Bijedić" University in Mostar is organized in three cycles: the first cycle of studies (undergraduate with 240 ECTS credits), the second cycle of studies (graduate with 60 ECTS credits), and the third cycle of studies (doctoral study with 180 ECTS credits).

This study provides a thorough understanding of the past, ideas, cultures, and civilizations, from ancient times to the modern era.

The program is designed to provide students with not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills in analysis and critical thinking.

Students who complete this study program will be able to find employment in various educational institutions, archives, museums, institutes, institutes for the protection of cultural and historical heritage, various ministries, and all other institutions whose work is closely related to the field of history and cultural and historical heritage. In the aforementioned institutions, it is possible to work as curators for various collections, expert associates for various historical periods, activities (in the protection of cultural heritage) and other similar jobs in accordance with the internal systematization.

It is worth mentioning the long-standing cooperation between the Faculty of Humanities and the Department of History with the Archives of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the Museum of Herzegovina, and other cultural and historical institutions in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the country.
